although growing up in the wrong kind of environment doesn't help things either.

The jerkiness starts in second grade or so and continues well into their 30s. After that, maturity seems to take hold in some and others just continue in it til death.
However, I do agree with the one who said all people are jerks, regardless of gender--human nature is something to be wrestled with by everyone, I'm afraid.

they are usually made that way by women who are royal bitches, who are made that way by men who are jerks, who were made that way by women......etc....
the basic point is, Most people have a tendency to be jerks. You can't blamie it only on the men. I've always tried to be a nice person to women, but at times its very hard to do. not saying that you're at fault, but its possible that you have been not such a nice person to someone at some point.
Best thing, is to treat people nicely, and hopefully at some point you'll find someone who will do the same for you.

I believe it comes natural to them. When you watch a little boy and a little girl playing, it's always the little boy that has to be rude. Then when you get this one together with more little boys, they learn from eachother and if they hang in this crowd of boys through high school they grow to be that way.
