I take temazepam too for my M.E. Try taking it every second night as it stays in your system for a surprising amount of time. I have tried everything out there from SSRIs to herbal stuff and the temazepam works wonders for sending me off to sleep but I ws worried about the addictive qualities, so I take it every second night and it takes a little longer to fall away to sleep, but nothing serious. Try it first, because if you have found something that works and then try something else and it doesn't work, it could make your situation worse.

Never ever take a sleeping aid. No one ever died of lack of sleep. Eventually after you go through you own head for maybe a week you collapls, (not literally collapse, as in fear panic etc,) you will give yourself permission, and have no strenght to stay awake, and therefore my love, you will sleep, and then all your fears, and anxiety will we resolved because you will know, ant the end of your shitty day, you can go to sleep, and naturally escape, just the way you and everyone else has been able to do since bieng born. Do not take ******* Tamazapam. You will get addicted. Trust me I am a Zopiclone addict. I turned a medication into a drug. I like it , but I can buy in spain...over counter...I am 58 what the hell. Do not give your health, and your life to pills (p.s. only once in a while for "recreatonal", but never ever take what the doctors prescribe, because, they are the legal pushers. Everyone has anxiety....years ago it was nerves. Just think. Most people have terrible lives. Belive t.v. newspapers. My advise to you. Is. Try not to relax. and go dance your *** off, and smile, oh. and also eat fresh veg, and fillet steak. xx

Being that all drugs are foreign substances to the body, I don't believe that any should be long term. Eat healthy, excercise, drink lots of water. If you give the body what it needs, then it has a shot at healing itself. But, you may need to detoxify. One of the best ways that I know of is to consume bio-available whey protein. This in itself will do nothing, but it provides the body with the essential amino acids that are most often missing in our diets. We cook most of our protein, and the heat destroys many of the nutrients. When we don't get enough of the essential nutrients, we have a deficiency, that causes problems. If you want to learn more, go the http://www.achievevibranthealth.com
I suggest looking at the MA+ (whey protein) for starters. You can get a much better understanding that I can type here.

In the long term I think that hypnosis, relaxation techniques is the way to go. I am similar to yourself and I tried hynosis (which I was sceptical about because I had tried tablets and had built up resistance) it helped me get to sleep but not stay asleep. I think when I woke up I worried about getting to sleep and that was me again. It was £30 per session and on a low income I couldnt to pay for more but it might be worth asking your gp for a referal.

I wish you good luck because people who dont have anxiety say dont worry, well if you could do that you would patent it and be richer than bill gates!

Do you eat or drink any products with caffeine?

I've suffered from severe anxiety for almost 10 years. Over time you learn to cope. But, one of the first major things I did that helped was eliminate all caffeine from my diet.

By the way I've never taken any medicine for it. Just don't believe in it. I've just about conquered it. Try to think if anything is leading to anxiety. Stress at work, home, etc.

i have had severe anxiety and a panic disorder now for a year which led to agoraphobia. i totally totally sympathise with you and i know how you feel the sleeping is the worst. if you do get any sort of sleep you feel absolutely drained when you wake up as though you haven't slept a wink. i have a very good psychiatrist after trying many medication and they didn't work she put me on Cipramil 60mg and it has totally changed my life i now sleep like a baby. i am not saying it would work for you but it might be worth a shot. hope you do get sorted x

I am on temazepam and now I have to take 60mg to get a decent nights sleep. My body has got used to them.
My GP only gives me 14 x 20mg a month so only get a few decent night sleeps a month tend to be a Friday I take them.
I suppose what I am trying to say, temazepam stop being as effective in a short period of time.

Have you tried Nytol or relaxation techniques?

i had the exact same issue..there was a point where i was awake for 72 straight hours cause my anxiety was so bad that i couldn't go to sleep and as a result, i had to miss all my classes and work and it was getting in the way of my life.

my doctor put me on effexor which i take daily which has totally helped and then she wrote me a prescription for xanax which i take if i have an anxiety attack or if i am having an anxiety attack so bad it keeps me awake.

it's worked great for me!

Hi there, I just laugh about my past 3 years of panic now. I was not able to go anywhere without carrying xanax. Fear of having another attack was the most important subject of my days. When i first found joe barry's web site i started to cry because of my happiness.
