Hi, my name is farah. I was just wondering if there were any guyanese people on this site. Also, is anyone able to tell me what exactly creolese is? I know it is a language but I have heard that word alot, because I too am guyanese. However, I cane to America at a young age so I do not understand the language that other guyanese people speak. Is the national language of Guyana creolese, broken english, or english?

Guyanese Creole (Creolese by its speakers; also called Guyanese Creole English) is a creole language spoken by several hundreds of thousands of persons in Guyana.

Guyanese Creole is based on the English language. It is similar to Jamaican Creole, as well as other West Indian dialects and related to Paramaccan and Aluku. Along the Rupununi River a distinct form of Guyanese Creole exists.

A creole language, or just creole, is a well-defined and stable language that originated from a non-trivial combination of two or more languages, typically with many distinctive features that are not inherited from either parent. All creole languages evolved from pidgins, usually those that have become the native language of some community.
