I would recommend a welsh corgi. There are two different types the pembroke and the cardigan. The pembroke has a stub of a tail and are most often seen with a red and white coat, though can be found red/white/brown and brown/black/white. The cardigan does have a tail and is black and white sometimes with a hint of brown. The pembroke gets to be between 22-27 pounds, depending on whether male or female, and the cardigan gets between 27-33, depending on male or female ,also. The corgi stands on short legs and only gets about 10-12 inches tall when full grown and about 20-22 inches in length. Its short legs do not hold it back from being active whatsoever and willingly abliges to running all the way across the yard to go fetch a tennis ball or a frisbee. The cardigan is the more laid back of the two, tending to be more of a couch potato, but will happily jump up to go on a walk or play in the back yard. The pembroke is very entergetic, but not hyper. Mine is sleeping on the cool hardwood floor right next to me as I write this. When purchasing a corgi I recommend you go to a well-known breeder because if bred just to make money in puppy mills, and its parents are less than show quality, it can tend to have hip problems later in life. I personally just bought a pembroke for my kids. He is a beautiful dog and is people friendly and most importantly for me, kid friendly. At the moment we are trying to socialize it so he will be friendly with other animals. Don't get me wrong they do well with other animals, ours is already playing with our cat, but we got ours late, at about 16 weeks while the proper age is between 6-8 weeks, so he has a slight problem with larger dogs, but if you get yours within the recommended age you should be fine. The corgi is NOT a foofoo dog such as a poodle, a schnauzer , or a chiuaua. The were originally bred to heard cattle so are very hardy. Once a corgi knows its owners it is fully loyal and protective of them, resulting in a wonderful companion for your kids along with your entire family. If you would like to see pictures of them go to google images and type in cardigan corgi, or pembroke corgi. Best of luck to you whatever dog you choose!

pass on your interior of reach pound and get a small mutt. some pound canines have matters through fact of previous proprietors, so then choose for an exceedingly youthful dogs ( or a pup ). I truly have continuously been a dogs guy or woman and that i discover that mutts are many times heartier than organic breeds. additionally, an mind-blowing form of the organic animals come from pup farms that truly prove some very unhappy animals, so do no longer take your possibilities with that. finally, it is not substantial what style of dogs you get, there are continuously going to be matters with leaving a dogs on my own, they are %. animals and that they might desire to be around different canines or human beings. you truly ought to be greater advantageous off with a cat in case you at the instant are not allergic.

You know more Dachs fail shelter behaviour tests than Pits! Go to a dog show and look at the dogs, get a good dog book, or just go to a shelter and look. How low is low shedding? Some dogs are none shedding few are 'low' shedding.

My recomendation would be a Chines Pug. They are sturdy, healthy dogs that are great with kids. They have really sweet personalities. Chihuahua's and Cocker Spaniels are typically no good with children, both breeds are known to be extremely snippy.
Go to www.dogbreedinfo.com
They have a questionaire that you fill in what you are looking for, and your lifestyle. Then it immediately returns a list of breeds that fits you needs.

A Basenji sounds like a good fit but they don't really like other pets unless they're raised with them.
