This is possibly a romanian or polish dish. My grandmother used to make it. It turns out like cornbread only more dense. It is just water and cornmeal. I want to know how to make it.

You mean Mămăligă

You need:

4 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1 c. yellow or white cornmeal

Combine water and salt in a large, heavy saucepan and bring to a boil. Add cornmeal in a thin stream (like falling rain), stirring constantly. Reduce heat and cook over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring constantly with a long-handled spoon. Mixture will become a thick mass and pull away from the sides of the pan.
For best results and lump-free polenta, don't stop stirring until done.

Yield: 4 to 6 servings
