Almost. We met 7 years ago and became close friends. We loved each other. She moved out of state for college. She was with someone who wasn't good enough for her but she didn't want to leave because he had cancer. He asked her to marry him and she agreed. I could not bear it so I stopped speaking to her.
For three years we didn't speak.
Then, about a year ago we started emailing each other again. She had not married him after all. However, she had met someone else 6 months before we started talking again and she was in love this time. But, in an odd twist of fate, she had been diagnosed with Leukemia during the time apart. Maybe she and her new guy will get through this, maybe not. She has to be away from him for many months for therapy. But I haven't seen her either. I'll be here if she needs me. She went into surgery for a bone marrow transplant a couple months ago and I have not heard from her since.

Been there, done that. after all these years he still sucked. the biggest waist of my time ever!
He was just how I remembered... no worse
