Theres an ethnic section in every pharmacy, and grocery store, for African Americans, and hispanics, but this is mostly for course, or very thick hair. there's such a wide variety of products, that it's best to go down there, and read the box, to find out what YOU want to do. a good hair relaxer is always good. for example a 'cholesterol' it wil soften the hair, for easier styling.
its hard to determin what you should use, unless you estabilsh what style you want first.
All you have to do is read the side or back of the containers, or jars, if you're looking for a hair treatment cream, gel or spray.
If you're looking for a style, anything closer to the scalp is probably better. it would take less time to manage your hair, especially if you like to over sleep. Longer hair requires more indulged hair styles, that have to be maintained, some styles are unable to be cleaned out, and have to stay like that, until you cut it out, other styles like corn rows, and other tight styles, take some people many hours to complete, sometimes, in the course of two days.
So whatever you have time for, and how much effort yo uwant to put into it...
if your old enough to have facial hair. that is a huge plus, if you cut your hair, medium or short, and you have the right style facial hair, you'd definantly be in your own style.

Hair grease, curl activator, or Jam. All of those products work great for me.
Im black also. I have the same problem with finding products for my curly hair.
And regarding to this Curious stranger chick, black people are different just like other races are different from eachother. Y do white people and other similar races have straight hair, bcuz it's the way they are! Oh, and all black people don't have weird hair bcuz I have silky curly hair.

You can use anythinhg you please! I like to use products that has a brand name for example, Frizz-ease, or herbal esscences, or dove, or fructics. These brands come with everything to gell, shampoo, soap, and conditioner, and styling prducts. My personal favorite is Frizz-ease, which I just barley used at a reuniun. My familey let me try it, it was great!
