WHY ARE YOU ASKING FROM PEOPLE?
Just open quran and bible and find out yourself.
lets open Quran first. Quran says
There is no compulsion in the religion; Truth stands out clear from error; so whoso disbelieves in idols and believes in God, has laid hold of the most firm handle, which cannot break; and God is Hearing, Knowing. Al-Quran (2:256)
"Invite to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preachings, and argue with them in a way that are best and most gracious" (QURAN 16:125)
Quran says in Ch. 109 "Say to those who reject faith. I will not worship what you worship, nor will you worship what I worship. I will not be worshipping what you want me to worship, Nor will you worship that which I worship. To you be your religion, and to me my religion"
Quran says in [6:108] "Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides God, lest they out of spite revile God in their ignorance. Thus have We made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord, and We shall then tell them the truth of all that they did."
====================
lets open bible now
2 Chronicles 15:13 "All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman."
Deuteronomy 13:6-9 "If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying: Let us go and worship other gods (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other, or gods of other religions), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people."
I guess , i only copy pasted the verses.
Decide yourself, no comments from me.

I'm not sure by asking this question you if are serious and just not very informed about the facts or maybe you are joking, because it's a really funny question. In every religion there are extremists. Christianity has its abotion clinic bombers and its CRAZY pro-lifers that mail out glossy photos of aborted fetuses to whoever and sometimes little kids see them!
Islamic extremists bomb everything they disagree with and make their women wear dark, heavy garments to hide them from revealing anything. Drinking is outlawed and harshly punished. Women have pretty much no rights in their countries which leads others to believe that perhaps they are afraid of women attaining higher status than these old-school conservatives that are afraid of losing the staus quo.
So really, I think tolerance is in the eye of the beholder. But from a Western view, Islam is hostile to all other religions and ways of life and really has no place amongst other religions that seem to be able to tolerate differences between them. Remember when you were really little and you couldn't share your toys and play well with others? What did the adults do?
They kicked you out of the sandbox.
I'm no hick, but I think it might soon be time to put on our boots.

QUR'AN
49.13: "O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female , and have made nations and tribes that ye may know one another . Lo! the noblest of you , in the sight of Allah , is the best in conduct . Lo! Allah is Knower , Aware"
67.2: "Who hath created life and death that He may try you , which of you is best in conduct ; and He is the Mighty , Forgiving"

The Hamitic Myth is derived from the Biblical story of Noah. Taken alone as presented in Genesis 9:21-27, the characters are without a racial or geographical identity. It is the later interpretation of this race/religion/nation-neutral parable which assigned the curse specifically to the Black race such that by 1460 the institution of slavery would be universally believed to be the lot of the Africans.
Many other instances can be found of acceptance of the Myth as God's will and wisdom by Blacks and their slavery-fashioned clerics.
Bible Verses Used as Justification of Slavery
1 Chron. 18:11; 2 Sam. 20:23 (foreign mercenaries)
Josh. 9:21-27; Num. 31:26-47 (hewers of wood...)
2 Kings 5:20-27 (only other Biblical curse with skin change--to white)
Jesus had Canaanite blood; 1 of the 12 Apostles was a Canaanite (Mat 10:4)
Gen 17:13; Lev 25:24, 42-6 (condone slavery; 2 types of slavery)
Exod 20:10, 17 (protects slaves)
Matt 8:5-13 (accepts slavery)
Eph 6:5-9; Col 3:22-4:1; I Tim 6:3-4 (Paul approves slavery)

"Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil coronary heart of unbelief, in departing from the residing God." Christianity teaches that unbelievers are evil (and going to hell) which leaves little room for tolerance. Islam is even worst however. Islam needless to say teaches the Muslims ought to salary bloody wars against non-believers. do no longer enable human beings fool you into believing that Islam is a faith of peace.

It depends entirely upon interpretation. Violent, fanatical (and, often, heretical) movements have started in both religions, but they've held more traction in the Middle East because of political conditions (it's a lot like the rise of the KKK in the Southern United States). Neither religion is interently more tolerant or intolerant.

Too many flavors to compare. In general? Absolutely not. Of course that comes from a Western perspective which values individual rights for all - right to full political participation, work-place equality, etc.,- including equal rights without regard to race, color, creed (CREED!), gender (GENDER!!!) - Did I mention CREED and GENDER??
And no, it's not good enough to be treat just the other children of Abraham with equanimity. that has to extend to Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists, Atheists, etc. Sharia isn't going to cut it.

OH, PLEASE!.....whether in theory, or in practice, "knowing the way".....ain't neccessarily...."going the way" It sure hasn't produced many kind, peace-loving, or , tolerant followers in today's world,....has it?
Not knowing any better, is acceptable. Knowing better, and NOT CARING....isn't!!!
Check on a globe or world map....wherever there are Muslims.....there has been or still is TROUBLE.
...what other kind of message is the rest of the world to draw from this??

Queeranic hate book 9:30 "The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the CHRISTIANS CALL CHRIST the son of Allah. …they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. ALLAH'S CURSE BE ON THEM: how they are deluded away from the Truth!" http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/009.qmt.html#009.030

you have to define tolerance first.
if you look at it in race terms, then why not. but i am not a scholar of christianity.
why dont i just state then that islam is tolerant and peaceful.
btw, taking verses out of contexts does not prove your point.
