My siamese cat, Sophie is asleep on my bed. She looks so sweet. Should I awaken her for pets? Or just let her be? She's so cute when she first wakes up, she'll meow a surprised, tired meow, then she'll purr up a storm.

Gently pet her and she will purr in her sleep - - it will enhance her dreams - - - or curl up with Sophie and share her dreams. Cats Rule. Peace.

Chances are the cat will only be half asleep if she was sleeping with you. You have already woken up and stirred around, so she would have felt it and started to wake up as well. Go ahead and pet her, there is nothing wrong with it unless she is sick and needs the rest.

Also, note to yourself if she minds being woken up or not. If she accepts the attention, don't be afriad to pet her. It lowers both you and her high heart rates and releases stress.

If she seems grumpy about it, just don't do it again.

I'll usually wake my boys up especially the less they sleep durring the day the more potential sleep I get at night.
