I'm looking for marinades that I can make at home

It really depends on which kind if meat you are going to marinade.

For beef I like using some oil, mustard, rice wine vinegar and orange zest, or a nice chili marinade (chili flakes, vinegar, sugar, and some oil)

Pork goes great with an apple marinade (oil, brandy, apples and some cidar vinegar) or make a rub with some japanese 5 spice powder a little cayanne, and some brown sugar.

Chicken needs a milder marinade to go with the milder meat. If you're doing a whole chicken, mix some thyme and rosemary with some lemon zest and mix it into some butter, then put the butter under the skin. (use 1/4lb butter per bird) and smear the rest on the outside of the skin.

You don't really make it but a bottle of italian dressing always works great
