If the Middle East conflict became something entirely worst that called for outside help, is it clear as to which side the US would join, if they decided to help?

I never said "Hey! Let's make the US join the war!" I just asked that, if things happened which turned the conflict into a huge crisis where outside powers indefinetely needed to intervene (not just the US-- European powers, too), which side would they go with.

As it happens, the Senate has already declared support for Isreal.

They would join Israel's side. The U.S. cannot join the side of the people that are against them, and most of the Arab world is against America in some way. Yet I would like to think that the U.S. would employ good diplomacy and work harder for a peaceful resolution to the conflict than to blow up another Middle Eastern country.

Israel, first because Israel says it is after terrorists. That they are only doing what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. Second we supply financial and military support to Israel to the tune of 20 billion a year which makes Israel the 4th largest army in the world. Third because we always back Israel. United states was founded on religion. the Jews are part of our religion.

I think the US should stay out entirely. Israel and Lebanon offer no strategic importance to the US. Let them duke out their own little border skirmish.

Israel virtually owns the U.S. If, or should I say when, we step in big time, watch for Russia, and/or China to step in to defend the Arabs. Anyone smell ww3?
