I have tried squirting water at him and he just sits there looking at me, like what did you do that for? and still don't move.

I have glass things on top the refrigerator and i'm afraid he will break them... some of them are antiques.

A friend accidentally discovered a way to keep her cat off of the sofa. She was spraying perfume at her dressing table and the cat jumped up and got a face full of perfume. The cat hated it so much that when she sprayed the sofa the cat would go nowhere near it. The scent faded to humans quickly but the cat never went on the sofa again. It may seem a bit harsh but the same thing may keep your cat off of the refridge.

I have too much stuff on the top of the box to put tin foil or cans up there.

Well, here are some tips I've heard over the years, though they never seemed to work with our cat either:

1) Put out tin foil--for some reason they supposedly don't like how it feels to walk on it.
2) Put out pans and stuff that will get knocked around if he jumps up there--the loud noises will scare him.
3) Put double sided tape on top of the fridge--he'll hate it!
4) Spray bitter apple or some other kind of scent he won't like.
5) When you spray the water, try not to let him see you do it. Make him think it's a random event that could occur at any time if he's up on the fridge.

Like I said, though, for some reason out cat just seemed to stubbornly keep on going to places we didn't want him to. I think he just saw it as a challenge. But good luck.

Option one - a spray bottle full of water, just don't let the cat figure out that you are the one spraying it. The point is for the cat to think "Gee, everytime I get up here I get wet, this is not a fun place"

Option Two - there are special mats you can purchase that are made up of lots of bumps, not a comfortable place for a cat to walk, but they wont cause any harm - again - the cat will think the top of the fridge isn't a fun place. From her point of view it's a great place, up high, safe from danger and a great view.

Cats and dogs do not like vibrating objects like portable
massagers. Close the door to the kitchen. Pet shops sell shock mats just for the purpose of keeping animals off furniture and appliances, also available on-line.

Buy a cat repellent product at your local pet store. Spray it on top of your refrigerator, and he'll never want to go up there again.

cats are climbers and they will naturally go to the highest point in the room. I know cats don't like mothballs you can put some up there or use some double-sided sticky tape. You can get the tape at home depot (it's cheaper than petsmart),

Build yourself a bed of nails that would cover the surface area of the top of the refrigerator.

There is a cat repellent spray available from vets, they also say that cats don't like plastic bottles filled with water, sorry I don't know if that one works or not,it could just be one of those so called "old wife's tale" !

Get an air horn, next time he goes up there, hit the button!!! j/k

We had a cat that loved to climb on the counter to jump on the TV armoire. She liked to observe from her "post." Some cats love heights, so provide a tall kitty condo he can climb on. You can find tons of cat furniture online.

Firmly say "NO" and place him on floor and repeat until Cat gets the message. He/She will eventually give in, but why not let your Cat sit up there? It is a warm comfortable spot and it is wonderful having cats staring down from high places.
