Just for the record. Italy just won the World Cup in Soccer.
OK It's a Girl's game, but they won.

As for Italians the fall of the Roman Empire came with problems within the country itself as the government fell apart..As for world war 2 the Italians had bad training and some questionable leadership in the military.

Actually, Canada New Zealand, and Australia are the only nations that hasn't been defeated.
Napoleon is French not Italian. Marcus Aurelius was Italian

What in hell is this question all about? Italians are so great for much more than their military. Modern Western music, art, theater and architecture are all beholden to the Italian traditions.
And we won the world cup!

I have know clue what you're talking about, but I live in Italy and the Italians are the greatest people. They have certainly been good to us since we got stationed over here.

Because Italy was never truly unified.
For centuries it was a group of states controlled by various European nations.
Guiseppe Garibaldi attempted unification in the 1860's.
Today it exists as a relatively stable country with interesting cities and fine cuisine.
