Why does the guy always have to ask the girl out? Guys are shy too and often intimidated.

okay. most girls think that guys who are so relaxed and cool should do it. they may not want to ask u out because you're intimidating, and that they are afraid of rejection. many girls think that it's old fashioned and so sweet for a boy to ask them face to face sincerely. and if u'r afraid of the way a girl will reject u, pull her aside away from her friends, and ask her in private. usually most girls won't be cruel away from friends who aren't quite so nice. and u shuldn't be asking out any girls who are going to be unkind to u.

Its the same reason why men usually are the main earners in a family, or why we are head of the house, or why we ask a girl to marry us, or why we go and fight (fought) in wars, or why we let women on the lifeboats. Its because we are men, gentlemen to be exact for sum of us. Tradition has formed that the male is the dominant one, even thought that is changing in society, guys will always be a little more dominant just because of out anatomy and our history. Deal with it, u only live once, dont be shu and go for it!

I've been asked out many times by females, but then i think it has a lot to do with age. I think shyness on both sides seems to fade starting at about 30.

I know alot of girls that do ask guys out directly or indirectly, through their friends. But I agree, go out there and chase some females.

We are too nervous, and it has always been the guy's job. Mainly because we are too nervous though.

I've been asked out by women, several times. But maybe I'm just that awesome. I dunno why, I'm not THAT good looking. :-)
Just go up to a group of girls and say "Funnel cakes at IHOP, my treat" and see what happens.

some girls are afraid of rejection and they might be nervous. That's just my opinion.
