Of course you can truly love someone and not be in love with them. There's a huge difference between love and being in love! Think about it... you love your parents, your siblings, grandparents, friends of the sex you don't go for sexually, taht kind of thing... you love them all a lot, a huge amount... but you're definately not in love with them are you? I think thats the best way to look at this question - I mean, take a look at some broken-down marriages - they still love eachother, as friends, but they're just not in love anymore - its' often a cause. So the short answer to your question is yes - you can indeed truly love someone without actually being in love with them!

Of course you can. People get mixed up about love and bein in love. In love is just about sexual attraction and it doesnt last. Love is whats left when the excitement wears off!
