Some people will ask why I don't ask my parents my ethnicity in this case. Simply, I do not know my father, my mother's dead and she was adopted, and her adoptive mother and father are both dead.

Help, please.

The closest one I could find online is in Rochester, NY. However, if you perhaps contact the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society they may better be able to help you. Their mailing address and telephone number is:

122 East 58th Street
New York, NY 10022-1939 USA
Telephone: 212-755-8532
Fax: 212-754-4218

Their actual street address is 122-126 East 58th Street, between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan.

You do not have to be in New York. Family Tree has studies in many Sir names. See if they have a study by your last name. You should be able to get your real birth certificate, and determine your real parents, and their last names. People have birth certificates, and you have the right to your parent's certificates. You may have to wait for the state to mail them to you, but you should be able to order them online.

The DNA tests are usually to prove you belong, not to find where you belong. Start with the documentation, then the DNA will help. Birth, Death, Marriage, Deeds, Military, SSNs, will all help. One thing leads to another. Look at the Obits for your parents, and theirs. You can find them by looking! It takes time, but you will get excited every time you find a new nugget of information.

Any jail, but I wouldn't recommend that. I'm sorry, I really couldn't tell you.
