The lovebird is a female and female birds will lay an egg without a partner. That's how I found out my Quaker Parrot was a girl. It layed eggs when it was 5 years old. The egg is not fertile but do not remove from the cage because she may keep on laying more. If you leave it alone, after a few weeks, she will realize it is a dud and will not lay anymore.

Its very natural for the lovebird to have an egg, and then another, and then another. Due to the fact that there is no male then the egg is not fertilized, no baby lovebird. You can dispose of the egg and any after that unless you decide to get a male, they accept each other and start- well, you know! I suggest you be kind and take the egg when she may not notice. Remember that laying to many eggs constantly is not good for her health. I t depletes her of vitamins and minerals necessary for good health. Change her cage around inside and give her different things to do so she is not stimulated for laying eggs.

If your lovebird is laying eggs, be sure she has sufficient calcium in her diet (mineral block, cuttlebone, etc.) Also, like everyone else said, you can leave the eggs there until she loses interest. if she starts accidentally breaking them or they start to rot (eewww, messy and smelly!) you can replace her eggs with plastic dummy breeder eggs (available online, although I have seen them in pet stores before.) You might want to re-evaluate her living conditions to be sure that you aren't inadvertently stimulating her to lay eggs- providing a nest box, nesting materials or excessive light hours (more than 12, I think) can all stimulate her to lay eggs.

she is laying infertile eggs, take them out of the nest be for they rot, its is a Good thing that you bird is laying egg, its shows that she doesn't have any egg binding going on (eggs that get stuck inside and are unable to push out)

If you only have 1 love bird.. the egg is infertile. It takes two to tango.
