I like my hair it just really needs a trim of 4 inches or so but I'm thinking of a serious chopping. My hair is heavy (thick), it's hot and I have it up somehow almost all the time. I have had short hair before and look good with both. So do I do just above shoulders or a trim? I also get headaches due to the weight of my hair. Thanks!

Work on it gradually - start with a cut to mid-back and work your way up, if you decide that it's helping with the heat and headache issues. Also, what you do have cut, consider donating to Locks of Love (locksoflove.org) :)

Instead of a trim it would probably be best for you to cut a significant amount off. I really don't think hair that is that long is attractive anyway. If you wanted to do a really sweet thing, you could cut 10 inches of and donate it to Locks of Love, which is a charity that makes free wigs/hairpieces for kids with cancer.

Cut it to just above the shoulders and donate it to locs of love or something. Might as well let someone get some benefit out of it!

If u decide to cut a lot off, ask your stylist about locks of love charity, your hair can be mailed in and made into wigs for patients and children of chemo therapy.

You could donate your hair to Locks of Love. I did that last fall and had over two feet cut off . . . I miss my hair! LOL

Here's their website for more information: http://www.locksoflove.org/

Good luck!

I'd cut it and donate it to Locks of Love. Your hairdresser can handle the donation part.
