This is a great question!
Here are the first five questions God asks in the Bible:
"Where are you?",
"Who told you?",
"What have you done?",
"Why are you angry?"
"Where is your brother?"
These are five questions that we can ask ourselves even today as we think about how to live in relationship with one another

Personally, I find that the Lord directs me more than He asks me questions. The only question I remember Him asking me is regarding music. He asked me if I'd rather have the talent or the anointing, because I was feeling rather ungifted compared to most. I chose the anointing...God can do more through me in my weakness with His anointing than I can accomplish by myself no matter how talented I might be.
In Genesis He asked Adam and Eve where they were, as they had hid themselves from Him. (He knew where they were- His asking this question was similar to your parents asking what you had done when they could see full well the mess you had made). Again, I find that God asks relatively few questions of His people in the bible, but instead gives choices to or directs them in His will.

What's funny is that God already knows the answers.. like the first ones..
1) Adam, where are you? {when we walk away from him He still asks us the same question today, He wants to have a constant relationship with you}.
2) Who told you you were naked? {Did some snake in the grass tell you that you are nothing, you'll never amount to anything,you'll always be broke,you wont enjoy God's blessings?, He wants you to be blessed}
3) Did you eat from the tree? {If you were disobedient, I Am faithful and just to forgive}
His holy Spirit still speaks to our consciousness.

God will separate the good people to his right, and the bad people for his left. He will say to those on the right come and inherit with me the kingdom because I was hungry and you fed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in want and you satisfied my needs.Then those on the right side will say: Lord when were you hungry and we fed you, sick an visited you and in want and provided your need. And the Lord God will: Truly truly I say unto you who ever did this to those little children, he has done to me. Then He will say to those on the left side go away from me you evil doers, because I was sick and you never visited me, I was hungry and you never fed me , and I was in want and you never provided my needs. Then those on the left side will say: Lord when were you hungry and we did not feed you, sick and never visited you and in want and never provided your need. And the Lord God will: Truly truly I say unto you who ever did this to those little children, he has done to me.
