I get canker sores once a year around the same time. Your immune system is low and so you need to take Euchanacia and Lysine tablets which is info I found on the internet and it works and I also asked my pharmacist and she said it was good. Follow the bottles direction. It works for me. You need to take it as soon as you see the canker starting to develop though. You can get it at your local pharmacy over the counter.

Herpes simplex virus. They are very common. Today, they cannot distinguish between herpes simplex virus type 1 (which is oral) and Herpes simplex virus type 2 (which is genital) due to ppl with type 1 having oral sex passing it on to genital, ect... Cold sores, canker sores, fever blisters are nothing to be embarrassed of ppl got them before they were actually diagnosed around 1985. Any type of blister, even chicken pox, evolves from the Herpes zoster virus. Hope all this makes since. As everyone said, try not to spread, they now have ointment which is suppose to make the duration shorter.

Canker sores are not caused by a herpes virus. Cold sores are caused by a herpes virus. Usually it's not the same herpes virus as with genital herpes, but it can be. It can be spread from mouth to genitals and vice versa. People who get cold sores are usually only contagious when they have a sore, but people with genital herpes are at risk of spreading the virus even when they don't have an outbreak.

I don't know if there is a disease, but I do know that Lysine tablets will help get rid of cold sores. My husband swears that eating apples helps cold sores as well. Oh yeah, stay away from cinnamon and acidic foods like tomatoes and pizza. I hope this helps.

Yeah go to the cdoctor and try changing your diet a little bit. I started taking some of those chocolate or caramel vitamens that you chew up and they gave me horrible sores, i stopped taking them the sores went away.

i get them a lot too. but mine tend to be associated with my menstral cycle. it can also be cause by eating food with a lot of acid in it, like tomatoes used to give me them. next time you visit the dentist say something to them, they can get you a mouth wash to help clear it up.
