yes i agree with you too. that must be one of the rules to get papers in your country.... that Mexicans learn your country history, language, traditions etc, never forget about their own roots, but be able to respect and understand yours too. and if Mexicans don't agree then they can go back to Mexico...... but also something important..... Mexicans that achieve that should be getting the same rights, salary and all the other things that you American citizens have.... starting with respect.

people do protest for change in their country, but politics is so corrupt. Hasn't anyone seen the Obragador protests elections results against the PAN party? Mexicans are not the only ones at risk, and I hate how the media portrays it as a Mexican thing. Just as other countries are accomadating to English we should be as accomadating to Spanish. Each time I have gone to Mexico the employers are always trying to use their broken English rather than the foreigners's broken Spanish. What I hate about this bill is that it is attacking the wrong people who are taking advantage of the system. the american government is against the poor but are not finding a solution for the people who are taking advantage of the system which is the middle and upper class in mexico. the ones with passports and who can afford citizenships are the ones getting their manifestos, fake ssn cards, free medicaid, not the poor people crossing the border. pampering to the mexicans, how has america pampered mexicans? mestizos were slaves, lands stripped, racist comments because of their pigmentations. most mexicans are poor aren't they? These visas also help indian, chinese, russian students study in the USA to improve our technology. and what about these children caught in the loop holes. Thousands of children cross the border illegally and with no family eventually be deported, what about these people? What about the women who marry American men, and the men won't release or sign their visas so they're vulnerable to domestic abuse, and prostituting. I think the American government is investigating this situation in the wrong ways and attacking the wrong people. They should be attacking the middle class who cross the borders with their cars who know the system rather than these poor individuals seeking refuge from drug lords. Mexico is improving with the PAN party and slowly the peso is not as low as it use to be. So you can't say Mexicans do not protest and care because in fact economically Mexico is improving. This election has had the biggest turn out in years and so Mexicans do care because they outvoted the American elections. Felipe Calderon is an Ivy League graduate from the States and hopes to lead Mexico in the right direction.

I totally agree. I'll I've ever said is why don't they use all their energy and resources that they have and their determination to enter the U.S. illegally, instead demand rights to try to make thier own country better?
Why don't they all ban together in marches to change their country and make it right? Carry Mexican flags and demand rights as Mexican citizens, instead of invading the U.S. and trying to tell us they are doing nothing wrong.
The thing that really bothers me is the language. They should know or be learning English period. Instead, the U.S. citizens are being forced to learn Spanish. In every Walmart ad now it's in English and Spanish. I called my bank the other day and they asked English or Spanish? If the Mexicans are coming to the U.S. why do we need to learn their language?
I just don't understand what is going on here.

Do you even know where your ancestors are from? Mine came from Ireland during the potato famine; it's hard to fix a country all on your own.
Why are people so threatened by Mexicans and other Central Americans who want to escape the considerable poverty of their home countries and get a job and try to live the American dream?
"Our traditions" have more to do with the Melting Pot of cultures than worrying about how the flag is hanging, Sunshine.

Please understand one thing. Mexico is not a developing country, but a newly industrilized country. Mexico ranks as the 12th most powerful economy in the world with a very high GDP,it is the poor mexicans that are immigrating in the Unites States illegaly. I understand you very well, but don't be like the Scandinavians, right wing extremists who are agansit immigrats in their countries. The reason I'am telling you these because I'am a Franch born, and there are lots right wing extremists like the National Front who hate immigrants and it is worse in Scandinavia. I do agree with you that they have to learn English if they want to stay in the United States.

I totally agree! I live in a border city with Mexico and just can't stand people who cross the border illegally! And yet they want benefits and steal innocent peoples social security numbers! I believe all those illegal people should be sent back to Mexico! It's not fair for people who have done things right in order to reside here in the US!

Mexicans ARE protesting in their own country. You , silly 'Americans" don't watch international news and have no clue what's going on around you.
If you thing protesting can automatically raise salaries five times, then you are really silly.
But I do agree that you can't come to US and wave a Mexican flag...

I have said it for years, illegal aliens, no matter what country they originate from, should remain in their own country and fight for change. Ther countries will NEVER change when they run out on their own people, and that is exactly what they are doing. Becoming willing criminals by illegally entering the USA is NOT an acceptable scenario to most Americans.

because Mexico doesn't listen to them, that's why they try to protest in America so that this greatest country will most likely hear them. If only you were in their shoes you to will know what America truly means to the immigrant world.!

I agree, with all of the immigrants that have come to this country, these Mexican illegal immigrants are the most disrespectful I have ever seen. And they proved that when they marched, they showed their true ignorance.
