The only shame would be if we wimp out again like we did in Viet Nam. We're there, let us do the mission. We weren't allowed to in Viet Nam because of gutless politicians and bleeding heart liberals like you.

You obviously do not know the difference between a war and an occupation. The United States DOMINATED Saddam Hussein's bunch of panty waisted republican guards in Gulf I and II. Now we are an occupying force that has to deal with an underground guerrilla force that fights on its own terms by its own rules while we are bound the Geneva Conventions, and a moral sense of right and wrong. Throughout history all occupying forces have had to deal with this problem. It's like swatting flies. The problem is not the military but the resolve of the citizens of the United States. We do not like protracted war or occupations.
P.S. Vietnam was not "shameful defeat". It was shameful leadership from Washington.

Haha, your funny. And also wrong. Marines do NOT retreat. If the Marines were turned loose they would wipe Iraq clean in short order of terrorist loving scum like you.
And as for us Vietnam Vets. Do you really think that America lost there? America could have obliterated Vietnam in a week. It was like we were fighting with both arms and one foot tied behind us, and we still took out about 100 for every 1. And without attacking the North directly.
The problem you see, is that the politicians and liberal do gooders think that peace can be made with scum like you. Come around my house and you and I will make peace. Just let someone know where to put your remains. And so that you may understand a little better, you wouldn't be the first towel head to be sent off to la la land. We had a little game for folks like you, we would see how high in the air we could get the towel to fly on impact.

Ah spoken like an ignorant coward take a real close look at American History Bub, you know what you will see:
When America's friends are attacked we support them, when America proper is attacked we answer and we win.
You don't know much about History, America was in Vietnam to help it's friends who were losing control of their colony, said colony being named French Indo-China, said friends being the French. The Australians pitched to help as did the Canadians but both were smart enough to face the music and get out before it got insane. Smarter move than us, but we didn't bail until it had already cost too much, but we never put our full commitment into so it was doomed before it started.
But historically when we are physically attacked we win. This specific war on terror has been going on since the beginning of the Carter administration. We have been tolerant to a lot of small attacks for most of this war and 9/11 was like waking and angry dragon. We will eventually unite and what Hezbollah is doing is
helping that. Terrorists are murders and actually are in the minority, don't follow any rules and given time can become very predictable. They hide behind civilians, and kill civilians, they don't fight any of the militarize they run like cowards.
So tell me, hitting babies and women with unguided rockets you are sure Allah loves murders. I think no God loves murders. No world should put up with them.

Nothing on Earth can stand up against the US military.
Iraq is a true "police action". The US soldiers are not engaged in all out destroy the enemy missions. They are trying to establish order among a population that harbors a significant minority of hostiles.
if Iraq can be brought within the network of western-friendly nations, imagine how powerful a blow that would be to nascent anti Western/anti-US forces.
They would become a powerful source of intelligence and operatives in the war against American interests...I mean terror.

I have a great deal of sympathy in my heart for the Marines and other military fighting in Iraq. It is a horrible situation. Unfortunately a lot of them have been persuaded to believe that the war is necessary, good, useful, productive, when it is not. They cheer on President Bush even while he is cutting veterans benefits. So my sympathy has its limits. I support the troops by wanting them back in the loving arms of their moms and dads, wives, husbands, girlfriends, sons and daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, etc.

well if you think that you can make a difference by all means go to your local recruiting office and sign up. Go over there and say that. OR better yet go up to any soldier who puts his a.s.s on the line and say that and see what gets said to you. Tell it to a tired, worn out worried military spouse who hasn't heard from her husband in months and see where that gets you. I'm gonna guess a good a.s.s beating. You should be ashamed of yourself.
