Roman Catholicism is a denomination of the Christian faith that is based on works and traditions of man rather than grace and the holy scriptures. No where in the bible does it say to worship Mary, have idols in the church with kneeling pads in fron to them, to pray to the saints, to elect saints, to call the pope our Holy Father, to count your prayers on beads having a set number in mind, pastors not being able to marry and calling them "Father"......they have become a set of traditions falling away from what Jesus has instructed us to do. Even doing what Jesus told us not to do. The church may have been fine in the beginning but its become a cult since then. Go to a bible believing church that worships God in truth and spirit instead.

wow there's a lot of myth making on this answer. if i may try to clear some of it up:
catholics are the original christians. christianity itself started as a cult because it was a reaction to judaism. but it stuck around for several centuries and eventually became an accepted religion.
'christians' as we think about them today did not exist until the protestant reformation led by martin luther. they rejected catholocism for various (some good) reasons. they were basically the same as catholics originally but did not have an allegiance to the catholic church.
now there are many different sects of christianity while catholicism has remained fairly unchanged. some christian sects denounce catholics because they believe only their particular brand of christianity gets you into heaven. even though you may be a non-catholic christian you still don't get into heaven because you don't woship exactly as they do. it mostly has to do with the various politics of the various sects. they all worship the same god though--whether they'd like to admit it or not.

Just an FYI- Catholicism is a form of Christianity.
But to answer your intended question, some protestants- especially evangelical ones, do condemn Catholicism, although this has decreased in the past few decades especially since they do seem to agree on many social/political issues- such as abortion homosexuality, etc.

Many Christians denounce what they consider to be the non-Biblical practices and traditions that characterize the Roman Catholic church. For instance telling their Priests that they can't get married when the Bible says...
1 Timothy 3:1 Faithful is this word: If anyone aspires to the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2 It is necessary, therefore, for a bishop to be irreproachable, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, well-behaved, hospitable, skillful at teaching; 3 not given to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not loving money; 4 one ruling his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence; 5 (for if one does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a new convert, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same judgment as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not being given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being irreproachable. 11 Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children well, and their own houses.
There are many other "issues" Christians have with things taught and practiced by the Roman Catholic church.

A True Christian usually considers catholicism as a Cult.
They believe in ""Another Gospel"" . NOT the Biblical Christianity.
They have many many extras, many of these extras are completely opposite to what Jesus/God taught.

no, catholicism is a HUGE section of Christianity--CATHOLICS ARE CHRISTIANS!!!! so of course they wouldn't denounce themselves and the other sections of Christianity (Lutheran, Protestant, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc.) might not believe the same things as Catholics but they don't denounce them.

No, all denominations have many rituals that are unbibilical. The pope is just a man, a priest cannot forgive of sins anymore than I can, the rosary aint gonna do squat for you. Why denominations have to add works to the salvation formula is beyond me. The bible states the way pretty clear. Faith in Christ - thats it.

Lol. Not if they're Catholic. Since Catholics are Christians, I seriously doubt it if they'd denounce themselves. Use some logic next time.

I do but not publicly. I was brought up catholic and through my study of the bible and commandments I saw how wrong the catholic church teaches us. Catholics pray to idols, saints and so many others like the pagans did before Jesus. That in itself is completely against God's commandments.
