Christianity is a faith, a lifestyle, who one is---not what one does.

You can be a religious druink. You can be a religious addict. You can be religious in just about anything, because being "religious" takes on nothing to do about "Faith", and "Spiritual Leading."

There are Christian missionaries in places of the world that would be arrested, tortured and killed if they were to organize a "church" building, with all the trimmings. Their Faith and their spiritual leadership makes them "in Christ and in the presence of Christ" any time two or more are gathered in the name of Jesus Christ."

However, those who are "religious" must go to mass every morning or at least once a week, even though there is absolutely no fruit in their lives that would indicate that they'd even heard of Jesus Christ, much less make him lord of their lives.

Even some who profess to be a Christian are "religious." They carry their Bibles with them to church, then put it back on the shelf when they get home from church. For those people, that's probably the only thing they use their Bible for---a book end.

True, sincerely, loving, working, living, breathing, fruitful Christians are not religious. They carry with them a leading Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus Christ that tempers their movements, leads them, and makes them who they are as human beings.

There is a story I heard when I was a kid that moved me to the core.

Once there was this long-haired hippy guy in torn blue jeans and a worn-out flannel shirt who came into a Baptist church one Sunday and walked right up to the front row and took a seat. He had a worn out, well-used Bible in his hand, a smile on his face, and he was ready to praise God that Sunday morning.

The two people who were sitting on the seat beside him very quietly moved down the pew, far away from this guy. That didn't phase him. He wasn't there to see those people. He was there to praise his Savior!

This guy was affected by the actions of those "supposed Christians," and he wrote a letter to God.

Father, I love you, and I'm here to praise you and my savior, Jesus Christ. I don't have much else to wear, and I can't afford a hair cut, but I'm here in this town to visit my dying mother, and I just needed to come and visit you this morning. I hope you don't mind. If you'd had the Holy Spirit tell me what these folks wear in their church, I would have tried to get some of those clothes. But I was just led to come as I was.

God answers, "That's okay, son. I didn't tell you what they wore here because I've never been here before either."

I love that story, and as long as I know, that I know that I know that Jesus Christ is the savior and that every sincere and faithful follower of Christ has the fruit and the inner workings in their lives of the Holy Spirit, that I am a Christian----I am not a religion.

Chritianinty is not a religion, it is a faith.

Religion is a devine set of rules and procedures on hoe to live your life, for example, Islam says you have to bow to Mecca 7 or 8 times a day (im not sure wich), and the Jew go to the Wailing wall.
The difference is, Christianinty is not measured by how well you keep the rules, so to say, but your commitment to faith. So it is a Faith, not a religion.

I do not attend church sweetie and I am not a Christian I don't particularly like Christians actually as a whole, some are okay and some have it right conceptually, but most, for the most part are brow beaters and second generation lemmings who don't have any clue as to what they believe or why... I love Christ and all of His teachings, Christians and christianity for the most part, I can do without.

Why does this confuse you people so darn much?

JESUS WAS A JEW PEOPLE!

Well what they mean screwball is that all other religions are false. Religions are man made, Christianity is the second half of God's original worship on earth. Everything else is man made-or religious. Religion usually means paganism in one form or another.

Bitter are we??

True Christianity is not a religion. Religion is a business. It provides false hope and false wisdom to its followers.
The true teachings of Christ were simple and less rigid than any religion of today's world.

Christ taught LOVE; for yourself, others and your maker (God); he also taught respect for your fellow man/woman; was not judgemental; taught cooperation amongst the people and lastly taught us that we are more than this life allows us to be.

Today's religions teach money is power and that if you are not all alike then you are wrong and going to hell.

I personally think Jesus would be appauld at some of his so-called followers preaching hypocrisy and prejudice in his name.

I have a very strong feeling that you have never heard a true Christian deny his religion. You are just trying to start an argument and it is not going to work. Atheism is not a religion. It is absence of religion or belief. You seem to have gotten mixed up someway.

I don't spew anything. Sorry. What are the lies that happen an hour or so? And besides, what are the alternatives? Living a miserable existence, like yourself?

Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship with Jesus. There's no worship in statues, beads,or icons. We don't confess are sins to a priest,or repeat the same prayer 10 times to get forgiveness. Wars are being fought because of religion and it comes from man not of GOD.It's not just every Sunday we worship but every day of are lives we worship him in are hearts. He's with us everyday like he promise.that's a relationship.

Yeah, I'm a christian, a Baptist. It is a religion, but, I don't go to church. Haven't found one I agree with. But, I'm one of the FEW that believes that everyone has a right to believe what they believe. I like finding out about other religions so I ask questions, sometimes they aren't taken quite right, their out of curiosity, but others think it's to stir up trouble or to bash other religions. But, sometimes its fun when things get stirred up.
