Lots of animals masturbate. Maybe you are talking about pygmy chimpanzees (bonobos) they arent actually monkeys. They show affection and bond with sex. They use it (forgive the pun) all the time, with each other to strengthen bonds, male, female, young, old, it doesnt matter. Lots of people think this makes them a good example of a passive affectionate evolutionary cousin. We are just as closely related to the often violent sometimes cannabilistic common chimpanzee, we all share the same common ancestor and personally I dont see the specialness of comparing us on this factor.
I find that I share lots of traits in common with lots of animals. Like, eating, sleeping, walking etc, etc. I dont think it makes me more like many of them.

Why do you think so many people go to the zoo? To watch the monkeys masturbate.

Yes,I had a male and female squirrel monkey's.The male would sit on the swing and whack off.
People just don't like to admit that we are all related.Arrogant, thinking they are so smart and better then everything else. When your just another hybrid monkey.
