If you are not Jewish (and you would know if you were) you are a gentile. A gentile is anyone who is not Jewish.

If you are rich or have your own sitcom, you may be Jewish. Here is the rednecks understanding of the Jew.

If you don't know, you're a Gentile (Gentile means everyone but Jews). Jewish people are Hebrew, descendants of Abraham. Dark, curly hair, dark eyes, medium-light skin. Caucasian, or as close as you can get. They often have Old Testament first names (Abraham, Benjamin). They are circumcized shortly after birth, but so are many Gentiles these days. They don't work on Saturdays, and don't eat pork. Oy vey!

It all depends upon your birth. And I don't mean physical.
If you have been born again through Jesus Christ our Lord then you are a Spiritual Jew. The Apostle Paul said to the Roman Church "Romans 2:28 "For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God."
The letter he refers here to is the "law". The letter killeth, but Christ makes alive.
How do you know? Well, when you are born again your spirit will bear witness with the Spirit of Christ. He will come into your heart and you will become a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17 say this, "Thereforee, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; Behold all things are become new."
Believe me, you will know.
"Study to show thyself approved a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Second Timothy 2:15

How do we know if you don't tell us anything? If your mother is Jewish then you are. If not then you aren't. There is no half, quarter or 7/10ths Jewish. Either yes or no and by birth that depends on your mother. If you have doubt about your mother truly being Jewish you may want to research the matter. Level of conversion (e.g. reform, conservative, orthodox) may change if considered valid by all parties, or not. Naturally, I mean if your mother or her mother, etc. ever converted.
