I have had three UTI's in the past and they have all behaved differently. The first caused the back pain that you mentioned while the other two did not. My most recent UTI came very similar to yours.
Cloudy, concentrated urine is often associated with urinary tract infections. The fact that yours began cloudy before you noticed the blood just shows the progression of your condition.
It is not unusual to pass a lot of blood and even chunks of tissue when suffering from UTI's/cystitis. I work for a doctor's office and we frequently see the symptoms you are describing (as well as the dark/ grape juice colored urine).
The best thing for you to do is to finish the antibiotics the doctor has given you and refrain from drinking caffeine or taking bubble baths until you are completely better. You should also drink lots of water and cranberry juice to flush your system. If you cannot drink cranberry juice, try taking cranberry supplements until better. These are also available by Azo.
If you continue having a lot of pain during urination, try over the coutner medications such as Azo to ease the pain. Warning: it will turn your urine a bright orange, but this is normal.
I would not worry that it is anything other than a bladder infection. However, if you are not better after finishing your antibiotics, call your doctor. It is not unusual for patients to require more than one round of antibiotics, so do not worry if this does not immediately resolve itself.

Yeah, it can be scary to see blood coming out of anywhere it's not supposed to be. However, I wouldn't panic yet. The doctors are likely right, especially if they did a urinalysis, and especially considering that your urine was milky before it was bloody. UTI's are common in some women, and being sexually active, taking baths (as opposed to showers), eating certain foods, and various other things can aggravate them as well. If the antibiotics take care of it, then it's an infection. If it persists, make an appointment with your regular doctor, who can then refer you to either a urologist or a nephrologist if necessary. Either way, please make sure that you take the full cycle of antibiotics (even when you start to feel better). One common cause of recurring bladder infections is when people stop taking antibiotics when they feel better, leaving a small number of the bacteria alive, which continue to breed and eventually cause another infection. Finally, take care of yourself, rest, and drink tons of water. I hope you feel better soon.

ER doctors overlook things too often. I don't see why it couldn't be a small kidney stone.
You need to see a nephrologist ASAP to get this cleared up, because it's not normal to have recurring infections like that.
