I am going to color my hair red and from prior experience the red fades rather quickly as we all know. I know red is one of the hardest colors to keep. If anyone has any secrets, or tips from personal experience id love to know.

So far as a hair dresser I have found so color by matrix to be a true color fades very little you only have to touch up the roots. (yeah, wow huh?) You may have to be a stylist or know one to get the color its sold here at state beauty supply. They require once a year to see your license. Regis and master cut I know have that brand available in their shop. I have to cover my Grey and I think my name says it all lol:-)

Spend the extra money get it professionally done, you will like it better it wont dry your hair to death and the color will stay. There's a reason the over the counter dye costs 8 dollars apposed to the 40 to get it colored.

Try natural henna from your local organinc/health products store. Its a natural product that's been used for centuries. Its not as easy to apply as the usual store bought type, but looks so much more natural and lasts about 6 months. Good luck

Color stay shampoos are good, get one that has sunscreen in it, or get some product for your hair that does. Other than that, the best advice is just to not wash your hair as often (I know, yuck).
