OK so I onced asked a quetsion as to how humans could be detailed and intricate and not have a designer...but how could a designer create something so complicated as sight yet people still need glasses, or a perfectly timed heart but some people still need pacemakers.

What if people are to God as cars are to people? Cars are built with such perfect detail, perfect timing, etc...yet things still go wrong either because the materials are imperfect or the design is.

So, what if God is just imperfect in his design? Or, what if the materials used to create are imperfect (carbon doesn't last forever)? This would mean that while whatever higher power is far beyond understanding, its not omnipitant.

Just looking for opinions...if you don't have one please don't answer.

Sherry, if we were meant to be perfect, and we are not...then there is a design flaw

Joe C - Great answer, but it doesn't address flaws. People can fix poor vision, but God doesn't seem to be able too. People can cure cancer, God can't seem to avoid it.

If Adam and Eve were perfect, and their behavior wasn't...then neither were they. A perfect being cannot have imperfect behavior.

I agree, the flaw is either in design or materials, but materials were also created by God, so he's not omnipotent. You can say that Devil causes imperfections, but then why can't omnipotent God destroy the Devil?

Finally, if God was omnipotent, he could predict future, including his own actions. But then he can't deviate from his own prediction, making him less than omnipotent.

Our design has been altered by ourselves adam and eve were perfect in body as one can get but through the interferrence of satan and through our own neglect of racial impurities, also note that these bodies are meer vessles which contain us to earth (our learning ground) the spirit is with out form or containment and there for these "containers or bodies" do have a shelf life let's say. But the spirit cannot age or die for example a ghost in a haunting often appears the same as they did 200 years ago when they died and some of them are still living under the same thoughts they had then so you see a spirit has no "container" and time (the thing that man uses to mark history with) is just another container.

God created us to be perfect, but that's not possible for sinful human beings. Adam and Eve were created in God's image, except they had free will and chose to sin. Once God kicked them out of the garden, their imperfections started to show, and they have ever since. God is not imperfect in His design, He lets problems like bad eyesight or disease effect us to make us stronger. Remember, God will never give you anything that you cannot handle. God has the power to not let anything bad happen to us but He lets it because if He didn't that would go against free will and plus whatever troubles we go through make us stronger anyway. He often also lets obstacles into our lives to test our faith and make sure we will remain by His side.
Just my opinion. Hope this helps.

Adam and Eve were perfect in a perfect world. They ate of the fruit of knowledge that caused them to die. This fruit made them age and decay with cancers and diseases in their genes that would be passed on to future generations. So all people are in a dying state. In heaven we will reciever new tents (bodies) that do not decay and are perfect. We currently live in a fallen world. The believer is only in a temporary body. Life on earth is short but afterwards we will recieve eternal life if we endure to the end. God bless you and continue to search for God. God is omnipotent! (Having no equal in strength, power and ability)

Dear Doug,

The Bible says God created the Heavens and the Earth. When the creation first was spoken into existence, it was perfect in every way; there were no flaws or anything. God created man, and He made them with the ability to have free will. A child will love his father because they have a free will. But Adam and eve chose to disobey God. Ever since that moment our world has been slowly sinking into destruction. Animals and humans are now imperfect and flawed because of the effect of sin. And because of this defect, Man will die, while it was actually meant for man to live forever. We desire sin, and desire to be in rebellion to God and the whole world is Chaos. But The Bible says God will make it right. When we die we will stand before God and give an account of every thought word and deed. Nothing we have done will be hidden from his eyes, and all manner of wrongdoing will be sought out. The Ten Commandments (God's Law) will be His standard of righteousness. If we have broken His Law by Lying. Stealing, looking with lust, using God's name in vain, failing to put God first etc, we will be found guilty before God and lose our souls forever in Hell. The good news is That God has done something wonderful for us to bridge the gap between man and
Him. Jesus Christ came to earth and suffered and died to take the punishment we deserve for breaking God's law. We broke the Law, but Jesus paid our fine. If you will repent, and put your faith and trust in Jesus, God will forgive you of every sin and grant you the gift of everlasting life with him in Heaven. Then the Bible tells us that God will destroy this earth and create a new one, then everyone who has been saved and reconciled to God through Jesus Christ will dwell on this new earth and everything will be perfect for an eternity. Have you Repented and trusted The Savior?

I believe that God made a perfect creation (humans, animals, enviornment, etc.). but because of man's choice to sin (a violation of perfection) the creation become imperfect. God gave man the choice between perfection and imperfection. maybe that was the flaw that God gave us. but does that mean that he is not omnipotant or that we have free-will? I believe that it means that God is all-powerful, yet he restains himself from controlling us by giving us free-will, the ability to choose between good and evil.

You answered all your own questions. That's why we die, dude, because our "materials" don't last forever. If we were created be a god, he created us to wear down on purpose, we're over crowded enough with people dying daily, imagine if he made us perfect and no ever died. That doesn't mean he's not omnipitant, it acctually means hi is. He knew exactly what the hell he was doing!

What a great question. I too have often wondered. And what is the real definition as the author used it in context in the Bible. You are thinking along the lines of a postmodern christian. Things are always changing in the christian life. What if Martin Luther had not questioned the Catholic church? I am eager to see more thoughts on this subject. I , however, believe God is more like us than we realize. Did He not make us in His image?

Your perception is actual based! we are all created with the certainty of the life of the Lord and a prefer to be responsive to Him. this is subsequently that the Scriptures inspire mothers and fathers to bring up their toddlers in a godly way so as that they're going to emerge as responsive to the Lord. i'm a born back Christian of many years and be responsive to the Lord via His indwelling Holy Spirit and as such have a private relationship with Him. Scripture additionally tells us in Romans a million:20 that the very introduction each the place testifies of the life of a author and the Lord holds guy to be with out excuse. I even have seen over the years how a lot of human beings attempt to fulfill the interior choose that all of us have via accumulating textile wealth yet in fact this choose can in basic terms fairly be happy via the indwelling presence of the Lord interior the guy of the Holy Spirit. you think there's a God! i'm additionally liable to think of that he's calling you right into a private relationship with Him as He has instilled in you the perception that He exists. pass to Him top now in basic prayer and experience His enterprise with the aid of fact the flaws he will provide you have eternal value and a relationship with Him is unbeatable. God Bless!
