Isn't this hypocritical?

I'm a Catholic Christian, and my favorite saying is:
"You don't leave Peter because of Judas."

They are too busy looking at others instead of looking into their own salvation.

An ego(pride) is hard to conquer. They should cultivate a humble heart...oh what a wonderful world it would be if we all humbled ourselves.
The evil one tempts us at every opportunity, even in church. That's why many are tricked into leaving the church.

The catholic church has gone astray many times. Some of those times have been criminal. In the past the people in the pew could be killed for speaking out against the church, no so now. The people can change the clergy and the pope if they so choose. But yet they remain silent. This act now makes all Catholics guilty of the sins of the church. All members of all Catholic churches are guilty of child molestation. They will remain guilty of that crime until they rise up and set the church straight. The catholic church has covered the sins of pedophile priest for years. That is not their only crime. If you are a Catholic, all I can say is shame on you-why don't you do something about your church. If you can not fix it-then if you call yourself a Christian you should leave it. The fact that you stay says that you can not possibly be a Christian-but you can be a Catholic.

I can't speak to anyone else's motivations. I only know that I left the Catholic Church because it would have been hypocritical to stay and pretend to believe all kinds of things that I don't believe (and I'm not sure I ever believed them).

My devoutly Catholic sister stopped attending her local parish church because the pastor is a misogynist and a reactionary; but she's still a Catholic and I'm not about to ask her why, as I consider it to be entirely her business.

Let them be.

It's their business.

I am a Catholic, too... but I wasn't always.

I was raised in a Methodist church, and I converted 2 years after I married a Catholic man.... because I chose it.

In some ways I was judging the church I had been raised in as NOT RIGHT FOR ME.

That's what freedom of religion is all about.

yeah that sounds like a catholic, some not all catholics are just messed up, its been my experience the majority of them especially if they come from catholic churches that dont have bibles in the pews

i asked a question yesterday about transubstantiation or however its spelled, and asked what is transubstationation. THen in the details I quoted from 1 Corinthians (thats a book in the Bible, you are catholic you might not know that) (honestly there are catholics who don't know that Corinthians is in the Bible so, im not trying to talk down to you its just based on my expirience with the 20 or so catholics ive talked to about the bible since i stopped being a catholic . . . cause they werent living by the bible not by catholocism, but thats another matter) so i quoted the part of corinthians where the doctrine of transubstantiation comes from, essentially answering my own question,

then about 10 catholics answered with "its where the communion becomes jesus's flesh my pastor told me so"

the one prodestant who answered discussed with me corinthians

so, essenitally, it doesnt surprise me that catholics would leave catholocism because the other catholics arent living by it, cause catholocism is sorta good and fine by itself but the american catholic churches seem to have done away with the bibles,

some not all, apparently here in chicago where i live they do have bibles in the pews but, i dont like being around catholics you ask them do you believe in jesus and they go into a big song and dance about how not everyone on earth has to believe in jesus, and its just so wierd being around these people

its like when my mom and dad come to visit and i start asking them about their faith and the bible and they just lock up and cant answer questions about the bible

now, of course all one needs to get into heaven is to believe in jesus,

but again, ask a catholic do you believe in jesus, and you get this big song and dance about well not everone has to believe in jesus for god to love them,

so, to me, some not all catholics arent saved
