it sounds like your mom has depression. I would call your area mental health and ask them what to do. There is a good chance that your mom is going to refuse help, but if you call them then would be able to guide you to a support group or class to offer more education about depression.

As some others said, your mom may have depression, or she may have some other chronic illness. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which has caused me to be lethargic for years, and I often didn't have the energy to do the normal things for my daughter. I did my best, but as a teenager she became very resentful of my condition. Believe me, I also really wished I could quit being sick all the dag on time! I got as much help as I could from doctors, or it would have been even worse. And I was a single parent; there wasn't even a dad around to help. I really sympathize with your situation, since my daughter was in the same situation. All I can say is, try to encourage her to be active when she can, and try to find ways of being active without her when she can't. She may not be able to do all the things most mothers do, so you may have to learn some from other people.

Well, it does sound like she goes through bouts of depression. My dad does the same. However, he doesn't have issues with his temper and yelling at people. My step mother did. She was manic/depressive (bipolar) which was scarier, because she got to a point where she would become violent (though she had a history of taking drugs which affected her as well)
It sounds like your mom could use some help. Perhaps you should speak to your father or a counselor of some type. Unfortunately, most people won't be helped until they realize they have a problem and want to change it.

My mother has been the same for most of my life...she suffers from sever depression and has her good days and her bad days...the point is she won't get help until she decides by herself that she needs it and if you tell her she needs help then expect for her to become very angry. You can talk to her about it, but the main thing is to just try to be supportive of her and be as helpful as possible. Its nothing thats wrong with you remember that...when people are miserable and depressed that have to bring other people down without even realizing it and want to blame their problems on someone else because it hurts to much th accept the blame themselves. Try not to let it get you down and if it does and it probably still will from time to time please feel free to contact me I am always available to talk....my s/n on yahoo is madameblueberry2001, my s/n on aim is tucker12231986 and my email is madameblueberry2001@yahoo.com :)

From the looks of it she sounds depressed. Your father may know why and that is why he avoids the subject. The best I can recommend is try to persuade her to see a doctor about this or even talk to her how you feel about the situation. Try to do some things with her like tossing a ball around or even try to watch a movie with her for starters

it sound very much like depression, she needs your dad's help, she has to see Dr. ,they can help her.
you have to talk about it with your dad.
