A very popular home remedy for blackheads is to use a warm compress and apply pressure. Before applying the compress, wash your face thoroughly with a facial cleanser for your type of skin. After rinsing, pat your face dry and apply a warm compress to the affected area for fifteen minutes. When finished apply soft, even pressure to either side of the blackhead. Do not squeeze. If the blackhead does not move, try this one more time. If after the second time the blackhead does not come out, stop and try another method.

Another home remedy for blackheads is pore strips that can be purchased at almost any drug store. The pore strips are applied to the affected area and peeled away. This can cause damage to the skin if not used as directed.

Applying undiluted lemon juice to the affected areas three times a day is also a popular home remedy for blackheads or mixing a half tablespoon of boric acid powder with one and a half cup of hot water and applying it to the affected area.

the problem with black heads is that they are open pores that have filled with grease and dirt and even once you have managed to remove the dirt the pore stays open and just refills with more dirt. You need to look at the bigger picture, make sure you do the usual stuff of cleansing etc but also take up excercise to help regularly 'sweat' out the dirt, drink plenty of water and once a week go for a steam and sauna. Also don't use heavy makeup as this is contributing to filling the pores with grease and dirt.

Try a face wash. Proactiv and Clearasil foaming cleanser are my favorites. If you can't get that to work, try scrubbing gently at your nose with a damp washcloth.

Tip: When you use facewashes, it's usually best to apply or scrub RIGHT after you shower. The steam opens your pores and makes it easier to get dirt out of them.
