artificial insemination 1-5 lives created 19 or more lives created just to be taken.

No 20 is not an exact number of embryos created. There are always more embryos created than are implanted. Depending on the situation more than 20 can be created especially in dealing with people with a family history of birth defects and low fertility rates.

There are always more embryos implanted than are expected to live.

As a strong christian and someone who underwent IVF to concieve, my answer would be no! Wow, this is a loaded question for me! God made us very intelligent and I believe that he works through people, including Doctors.

I had 3 implanted and one survived! I have a beautiful little girl that I thank God for every day. Because we had embryos left and I conceived my second child on our own, the decision on what to do with the left over embryos was a no brainer for us. Disposing of them was not an option. There lives had already been created and we loved them.

Because whe had been blessed, we wanted to bless another couple who couldn't conceive. That is what we did, they now have a child of there own.

God is the creator of all life even if helped by the Dr. I struggled through infertility so that I could be a blessing to someone else. I truly believe God was with us.

easily, abortion is immoral, no longer merely that is adversarial to the catholic faith, it really is that if one is a roman catholic even if that is risky to the well-being of the lady after the technique. For man made insemination, i do not trust that it immoral, properly atleast that is larger between married individual or a unmarried mom to have a man made insemination done, than having an undesirable baby with some different person. atleast the baby will be certain that he or she is somewhat wanted and loved with suggestions from the guy/s present procedure this technique.

If christians thought logically, they'd say yes.

However, of the people who go to fertility clinics, a huge percentage are christian.

Thus, they have completely different and contradictory standards.

PS: Mello, the point is that, in the effort to create a life via art.insem., a larger number are killed. Do try to keep up.

PPS: to the questionner, it appears that the theists don't seem to understand the issue. You might have to dumb it down a little more.

if u ask me as a person of science... i should say this is not immoral... the immoralilty lies with when the embryo or the sperm is taken from others rather the couples who is in need of baby...

this is done only incase of pregnancy is not possible with the couple.. if anyone of them lacks or suffer from certain malfunction.. which can range from simple to complex...

another thing as a spiritual being... this should be answered in their prayers with CHRIST... if HE has other plan in their LIFE... so they must consult first the HEAVENLY FATHER then to the doctor for insemination...

I think artificial insemination is against nature, there is a reason why people cannot have children and it is usually because they have some faulty gene or inherited illness...I think it is way more immoral than abortion and way more dangerous as it goes against natural selection and stores up problems for future generations.

You do not know the other 10 will be "disposed of" to begin with. And is 20 the exact number, each time the IVF is tried?
