Somewhat, but most likely after you go through it you will be glad you did. They will make your teeth ache when they are first put on, and then when you go in to get them tightened each month. The best thing you can do is take an aspirin or ibuprofen before your appointment, and it really will reduce the aching. One way or another, it doesn't last longer than a day or so.

Yes, at first.
Two of my friends had them they said it was very painful the first few days. However it goes away after you get used to it and everything. Do NOT make it stop you from getting braces it's worth it in the long run!

when i got them, it hurt for the first week, it hurt SOOO much! i couldn't eat anything and basically drank soup. but after a couple of weeks, you get used to it. also when u get them tightened, it hurts again for a few days. Oh and the wax! u need that so the braces dont cut up your mouth, i used that all the time because i constantly got blisters, but i think it depends on how sensitive your mouth is, because my brother never used his wax.

You get a bit of a toothache right when you get them on or changed (which can be cured by Advil or whatever), and you'll have the wire scrape against the inside of your mouth sometimes which can make it painful and awkward to talk for a while. But that really isn't a big deal in the long run.

Every time you get them tightened, they make your teeth ache for a few days, but usually you only get them tightened every few months. They hurt a bit, and the whole process is annoying, but it's worth it in the end. :)

I've heard complaints of discomfort. But then one (1) co-worker told me that he liked the feeling (pain, the more intense the better) after having them adjusted & tightened.

Only when they are tightened or a new wire is put on. If you have to where rubber bands then your mouth could be sore. Just depends on how sensitive your mouth is.

yes.
i have them.
only when you first get them.
it hurts to eat for about a week.
then it's okay, you don't notice them that much.
the wire can rub the back of your cheeks though, on the inside.
if you get them, get some wax from the orthodontist.

No, they're more uncomfortable if anything, at first. You get used to them.
