I don't know exactly what kind of bite it is, I'm pretty sure it is a mosquito bite. It is red, swollen, and itchy. I want to get RID of it, not relieve the itching. The thing is, it's on my face and very obtrusive, so I want to get rid of it ASAP. Thanks in advance!

we found this remedy by accident ......

one day, I got a horrible mosquito bite and asked my daughter to check her purse for something to put on it.....

she had nothing.....but a medicated " Chap-stick "... ( the light blue one )

I figured it couldn't hurt........and slopped some on.....

well, it stopped itching immediately, and several hours later, you couldn't even tell I had a bite...!!!!

now we all carry Medicated Chap-stick !!

Take Benadryl - that will stop the itch and reduce the swelling within an hour or so. You can also use the topical kind (spray or cream) for some relief, but it will wear off faster and you can't take it with the kind you take by mouth...and in the future, wear insect repellent - you don't want West Nile virus! :)

I think that you are fine. I have them all over my legs. I have been putting benadrly on them and it has made them like 10 times smaller. I can't get the red to go away though. Get the swelling down and I'm sure you can cover the rest up with a foundation or something.

I don't think you can get rid of it per say you might try some liquid benadryl to help with itching and then at night put some hydrocodisione cream on it or ask the pharmicist at your local drug store what is best.

Buy some over the counter cortisone creme (Cort-Aid 10%). It won't get rid of it but it will stop the itching. You'll have to use makeup to disguise the red

WD40. Trust me, it works.

My mother gets blood posioning from any sort of little bug bite - this works for her. A friend sent me the list of the uses (besides the normal use) for WD40. We tried it on her last bug bite and it went away in a couple of hours, and she didn't get blood poisoning.

to hide it i would use make up. unfortunately there's nothing you can do to get rid of a bug bite. you have to let it go away on it's own. there are medicines you can use to get rid of the itch, but that's about it. sorry

A little rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab seems to relieve itching.

You must treat it to get rid of it. It's the poisons in the insect that causes the reaction. Use some benadryl and don't scratch it.
