Women and men are not allowed to have a free kind of relationships. They can hug in the public if they are married but it depends where they are because the cultures in Muslim countries is conservative.

First, in general, Muslim men and women do not mix socially within the community. But unmarried men and women are encouraged to meet and talk before agreeing to marriage. My husband and I met for the first time at the mosque - a meeting which was 'arranged' by the teacher there who after hearing our uncles talk about us thought we'd make a nice couple. Subsequently we spoke on the phone a few times and then agreed to meet in public, at a restaurant, to talk further. We were never chaperoned, but we were never really 'alone' either. We married 26 days after we met -- that was more than 3 years ago!!!
As for kissing and hugging this is not done before marriage. In fact, some refuse to even shake hands with one they are not married to or related to such that they could never marry.
Public displays of affection vary by couple and by where they happen to be... It really depends on what the individual couple is comfortable with!

Muslim Men and women can not be alone together unless they are a parent, uncle, child, very old, father in law , husband/wife etc.
It is said that when a man and woman are alone together satan is always the 3rd.
It is very rare to hear of a muslim having an illegitimate child.
Marriages are not always arranged, and a muslim female must approve of a man before she marries him.
There is no dating in ISLAM, but doing activities with parents included is ok if the intention for marriage has been made

It depends on the country that they live in. Those in middle eastern countries have stricter rules due to their laws, but I've known Muslims, both men and women, living in America who date, mingle, fall in love, hug, and kiss, just like anyone else.
