Why does a dog chase anything? Because they love to play! Cats just happen to be interactive toys :)

To dogs, anything that runs away when chased is a toy/food. Dogs chase rabbits, birds, squirrels, and cars for that same reason. If they didn't run away, they wouldn't be as interesting.

When the cat runs it kicks in the prey drive in the dog's brain. My cats don't run from the dogs unless they want to play
