Because we already know who would win the turf war.
Honestly, I leave when I see anyone standing around. Other people are scary.
(That means anyone of any race, before anyone gets confused.)

Same reason white and black people will leave an area that PUNK rockers or anyone "standing around" is about. white people don't usually stand around doing absolutely nothing unless there is a chance of problems occuring. Or unless the white people are up to something. Most white people either talk when standing on a street corner, or they are busy doing other things. They don't just stand there and look around like they are scoping things out.
Every nationality does things differently and sees things in a different light. I am sure many black people misunderstand some of the things white people do as well, and that makes them nervous. If we are not familiar with an action, we will usually not be comfortable with it.
Hope that helps answer the question.

I suppose that would depend on where the white folks were, and were the black folks were standing around..
I never leave somewhere were I want to be, because of the color of peoples skin..
That's not meant to sound sarcastic..

Well they don't want robbed, stabbed or shot. its not a mean answer, but blacks in a crowd means somethings gone down, blame your rap bullshit for the fear, rap capitalizes on fear, and promotes it, until the black community develops more sound image than gangster rap , it will suffer this, I am not being mean. just being honest. if the black youth of this country would see the greatness to identify with hard work instead of gangster mentality then when they saw a bunch of blak guys standing around they would think you guys must be on your way to work. however today they think time to move on. got to mqake your own future. o btw I am black.

If I am alone, I leave whenever I see a group of anyone hanging around.
If I am alone, and there is another person alone I always smile. Shoot, I gave a young black man a package of jelly beans I was saving for myself, he smiled back so nicely at me.

I think Jo' Nae and bumpocooper got it right. It's the same reason Mexicans stop talking when I go int the laundry room. Fear. Fear is the reason people do most of the negative things they do.

White people are afraid of black people. It is probably because many white people don't know many black people and when they see a large group of them they feel uncomfortable.

It isn't nessecarily their skin... Alot of blacks today like to look like gangsters so when you see alot of black people in du-rags (or however their spelled) and baggy pants with cigarettes in their mouths people assume that they are dirtbags... It is more dress than it is race
