Hi I often get tired about 4-5 hours after I wake up. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good snack to eat that will give me some energy and nutrients I need to last the rest of the day?

Thanks..

Bananas. They're high in Vitamin B & potassium & they're considered a natural mood lifter & energy booster.

First of all are you eating a good breakfast?
That is the first thing you should look at.
If you are the type that doesn't like to eat breakfast, consider a protein shake or fruit juice smoothie to start you off.
If you don't have something, you will be very hungary 4 or 5 hours into your day and will be much harder to satisfy your appetite.
Whatever snack you choose should have a fair amount of protein value to give you staying power.
High sugar snacks will only give you a "buzz" for a short time, then leave you feeling low again.
Too many "carbs" will make you sleepy and things like potato chips are "empty calories" with no nutritional value.
So to find a happy balance is the key.
Someone said peanut butter sandwich. Thats a good choice. Or apple slices spread with peanut butter.
How about whole wheat crackers and cheddar cheese? If you have fresh fruit an nice chunk of cheddar cheese would be good to balance it out.
Ham slices rolled around a dill pickle.
A flour tortilla spread witrh cream cheese and sprinkled with grated carrot and a few raisins. Roll up and enjoy.
There are many ideas. . . .but try to keep it balanced and healthy.
