I was at the grocery store - a challenged person was there. He did not have enough money to pay -his daughter and someone else just said well you don't have enough money - I gave money to the check out person. This man looked at me and said "thank you" I wanted to kick his daughter and the guy that was with her.

This past Friday I volunteered for the first time at a local animal shelter. I didn't do it as a favor and I didn't know anyone there, I did it just because I wanted to help the other people at the shelter to be able to aid more stray animals.

One church I went to prayed in their prayer group to be the most loving church in town. They had a lot of ushers/greeters who would say "Hi!" all over the church campus and help you feel welcome. The pastor said we should all be greeters and if we needed a name tag to do it, get one at church. I have noticed some churches have few greeters and people can just come and go without anyone talking with them. I have felt the lonliness of this myself. This can be especially true in churches with an older congregation and they have few younger people. The younger people need to be encouraged and welcomed too, and mentored even. Some churches now have a contemporary service (rock and roll) so the younger people can go together and not feel so alone. I have seen a sizeable congregation with most people under 50 at this type of service. People like to find people there own age or gender to meet with. Weekly Bible studies for men or women can do this too. People at church should not just visit church once a week or so. The Catholics have a daily mass. It is good to have a mid-week Bible study or classes at church to help the church people fellowship and meet each other. Also, the church should be working on various secular activities in the community to help the poor like donating food, helping in the soup kitchen, donating clothes, volunteering in various nonprofit agencies. My church is getting ready to do their third house for Habitat for Humanity. Activities where the church members can work together in helping others outside church is a blessing and following Christ Jesus.

whenever i see someone who needs help. I think random acts of kindness need to be done by a lot more people and it would be a better world a person at a time.

A few weeks ago I was at the grocery store and saw a lady with her head down on one of the tables by the coffee shop door. I asked her if she was ok and then made sure one of the stores employees checked on her again.

Yesterday. I saw a man that was in very bad shape, the looks of which told me that life had served him many acrid portions. He asked me for nothing at all, but the look in his eyes told me of his many hurts-so I gave him a dollar and he said ' THANK YOU.
