Ok, I know this has nothing to do with Pregnancy and Parenting, but I know I always get answers fast in this catogory. I just got stung by a hornet on my pinky. How do I treat it? Also, we know there is a nest in our wall by the back door and they are squeezing into a tiny hole. Any suggustions as to how to get rid of the nest without ticking them off? My husband is severally allergic to the sting and I also have a 3 year old that I do not want to put in danger.

This happend to us as well! If you see them in your wall! YOU ARE BEYOND ANYTHING YOU CAN DO!!!! Yikes! you have to call an exterminator right away. When we saw them in our wall they were about a day away from invading our house! The get bad fast. And anything you buy wont help. You need help fast! Also you can ice it. I buy this stuff from the drug store called After Bite. it stings a bit but it stops the itch that you will be developing! The itch worse than anything and it helps with the throbbing!. Go to Walgreens ASAP and get some! Also call someone to get rid of the Hornets!

If you have some Adolph's meat tenderizer, make a paste of it with some water and put it on the sting area. Take a Benedryl tablet also to reduce the effects. If you don't have meat tenderizer, substitute it with tobacco in a similiar paste.

To get rid of the nest get some of the hornet killer sprays that can be used from a safe distance and zap the nest or the opening they're gaining access to.

Try dabbing Apple Cider Vinegar as soon as possible after stung, or to relieve discomfort dab with Thyme or Rosemary Vinegar.
Try spraying hair spray on the nest after dark and removing it and then burn it. I know that if a wasp gets into the house you spray it with hair spray and they just drop.

Make a paste out of water and baking soda. Sounds like you need an exterminator to come in and help. I wouldn't dare use spray if you are going to have your little one around any that day.

I understand that tobacco spit helps (seriously!). Check out web MD. I would call my local cooperative extension service or county/city about the nest. They might have suggestions about the best time of day and how to remove it.
