i would have them do it all. that way, you wont have too many different types of dye in your hair, one is enough..you want as little damage as possible. the people at the salon will know what theyre doing =]

I say do it all at the salon. I am a Professional Stylist and I don't like when the client puts a home chemical in their hair and then come into the salon. We never know what they used or the reaction it is going to have with our products which are more professional anyway. Then you have a big mess and you end up spending all day on something that would have normall been a couple of hours. Normally salons have a color line they use and all of the chemicals are designed to work together giving you the results you want. When you start mixing chemicals from other lines they may counteract with wach other and you might invent a color you didn't want. Good luck

I wouldn't recommend dying it at home before going in to have it done. It will stress and dry out your hair and they will have to apply a moisturizer to get it back to normal. When they highlight, often a toner will be applied between the foils to even out color. They would be able to suggest the best route for you - if you'd like, they can color it and then highlight your hair. It will look a lot more natural too. Good luck!

Wait one week between coloration and highlights and be optimistic to inform the salon you've colored your hair in case you want to apply a a lot less abrasive bleaching agent. in case your hair is darkish you need to choose to bypass with low lighting fixtures fixtures rather of intense lighting fixtures fixtures so the comparison at the same time as it grows out isn't so major.

Listen to the voice of experience, sister! Let them do it! I used to do mine at home until I realized the HUGE difference between professional and commercial chemicals. The ones at home will damage your hair and dry it out. They are not the same quality of chemicals. Home use is ok I guess if you absolutely can't afford to have it done professionally, but will never end up with as natural a look as having it done professionally.

Have them do it, then. Otherwise your highlights might not come out right. Like if you dye your hair and then they bleach it, your hair WILL turn orangeyred.

NO!!! Let them do the whole thing. The color stuff they have in the salon is different/better than the home stuff. Let them do ALL of IT. You'll be happy you did...trust me.

Let them do it all. I know it may empty your pockets money-whise, but it really has the BEST results when they do it. Just make sure to bring pictures and/or explain EXACTLY how you want it. Hope you like it.
