The general concensus of medical opinion is around six weeks (42 days, on the assumption that water is available) as a maximum. If water is not ingested then death is by dehydration (which is not starvation). In the West we tend to associate starvation with the feeling of hunger. How many people say 'I'm starving' when they're half an hour late for dinner? True starvation is where due to the lack of nutrients to the body the blood flow slows and carries less oxygen to the brain thus causing eventual death. Without water death could occur in 4 - 10 days depending on body weight and condition.

If you are very fat you could live longer than a skinny person, but without water you might just die as fast?

Depending on the amount of fat on your body and provided you have ample water to drink, you would probably last about thirty days.............. (It is not a recommended diet plan)..........
