Sorry to bust your bubble, but they both come in 8s where I am. Hot dog buns used to come in tens because many hotdogs were sold in 10-1 containers. That means each hotdog was 1/10th pund and you would get a package of ten hotdogs, so you would need ten buns. Hmaburgers were generally sold as 1/4 pounders, or 4-1, which would mean four rolls were needed, but most people by in mulitples of two pounds when buying burgers.

it is based on the total weight of the bread contained in the package not the number of buns!
