A long time ago, in an attempt to kill myself, I took about 303 Tylenol (500 mg). Now the weird thing is that I threw up everything, and I never felt so much pain before, it felt like my insides were dissolving. Anyway this was not the question, what possible theories explain this event, I never had to go to the hospital at all, and I'm still alive 2 years later. I was always wondering. Maybe something to do with the gag reflex?

And no offense, but please do not post ANYTHING religious, such as God wanted me to live, ect.

your body try's to use the medicine appropriatly sometimes the body uses it and it harms other parts of your body, an overdose on advile is a slow painfull death as your kidneys shut down, you were lucky and your body knew there was to much in your systemand you vomited it up. No religions stuff here, but you body didn't want to die. Our minds may be willing to leave this world but our bodies they are always going to fight it. Please don't ever try to kill yourself, call me instead.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is one of the most commonly used over-the-counter pain relievers and fever-reducers. It is also found in combination with many over-the-counter and prescription medications, Acetaminophen is metabolized (processed) by the liver. When too much acetaminophen is taken, the normal liver-processing system becomes overwhelmed, and the liver uses a second processing system. This second processing system, unfortunately, turns the acetaminophen into a very toxic substance that severely damages the liver. This causes vomiting. Initially often only nausea/vomiting/sweating, then no other symptoms for 24 hours.
At 24-48 hours, liver damage occurs, which can lead to right upper quadrant abdominal pain, jaundice (yellow skin) or icterus (yellow eyes), confusion, coma, kidney failure, and death. This explains why you were in pain.

I read in some book about a girl who tried overdosing on her mother's sleeping pills-- it knocked her out, and her mother brought her to the hospital and had her stomach pumped. She's still alive, but she still feels a horrible pain in her stomach-- even a few years later.

I'm sorry for what you went through, but I think that the pain you are feeling is normal. I do not think that there is much that you can do to get rid of it. Good luck.

not sure, the body is an amazing thing. you probably threw up before they had a complete chance to disolve. your body innately protected itself. be careful though. many people who try this way (with tylenol and ibuprofen) end up permanently damaging their liver. i know a girl who will never be able to consume even one beer or soda drink, because her liver might fail.
