The country of Israel, has... nothing.... whatsoever to do with the Christian prophecy of the end. The NEW Israel, *True Christians,* are what the New Testament, and some of the old Testament is talking about.

Romans 2:28,29 For he is not a Jew who is one on the outside, nor is circumcision that which is on the outside upon the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one on the INSIDE, and his circumcision is that of the heart by spirit and not by a written code.

Romans 9:6b For not all who spring from Israel are really Israel. 8) That is, the children in the flesh are not really the children of God, but the children of the promise are COUNTED as the seed.

Jesus is the foundation cornerstone of the True Temple of Israel; Ephesians 2:20.

True Christians are the Temple, not a building; 1Cor.3:16,17 Do you not know that you PEOPLE are God's Temple, and that the spirit of God dwells in you. If anyone destroys the Temple of God, God will destroy him, for the Temple of God is holy, which Temple you PEOPLE are.

The temple being rebuilt does not bring the end. But it is part of what happens in the end times or as the Bible calls it, the great tribulation. The anit-christ will enter the temple and delcare himself to be god at the midpoint of the great tribulation. Then he demands that all living persons worship him.

The beginning of the great tribulation (which lasts for 7 years) begins with the signing of a peace treaty with Israel. Keep watching what is going on in Israel. When a peace treaty is put together by a powerful leader, you will know the great tribulation is about to start.

For the first 3.5 years there will be peace but when the anit-christ enters the temple and declares himself to be god, everything will change.

The best way to prepare for what is to come is to be right with God. A personal relationship with Him through His only son, Jesus is THE only way you will be in a right relationship with Him. Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the light, no one comes to the Father but by me." There is nothing to fear if you are right with God. His grace and mercy are far greater than any sin you have in your life. Once you confess your sins, He forgets them forever and He will make you a new person! What a deal! It doesn't get any better than that. You are also assured a place in heaven for ever and ever when you know Jesus as your savior.

May God give you wisdom and lead you into all Truth as you seek Him.

All of this information is in the book of Daniel (Old Testament) and in the book of Revelation (New Testament). If you have questions about getting right with God try this website. www.need him.org

look in Matthew 24 . Jesus is telling the signs of the end. "when you see the abomination of desolation in the temple..as told by Daniel the prophet." so the temple has to be there..at the time of antichrist...the jews have assembled all the matierials for another temple , by the way.

my sense is that the current mosque will be shaken and fall..making room for the temple....just my theory....i say this because the supporting western wall has been weakening and if there is a major collapse or a terrorist rocket hits it, the mosque will be gone. By then, if the jews are to rebuild a temple, they'd better work fast....one old testament scripture indicates it will be more like the temple of david (simple)...rather than the one like solomon (ornate)..i forgot the reference...if so, then all the jews need is a big tent and the ark of the covenant, and they are ready to go....
