in my daughters church red. This was during some renovations I was helping out with. Why do you think everyone looked shocked and disturbed at the prospect? Not nasty blood red either, but tasetful, with new furnishings and all. Doesn't god love all colors?

It just sounds like the other church members are afraid of change!

I don't think God has a preference of paint colors. Red will make a small room appear smaller.. why not use red as the accent paint?

Red can be absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately within a Church setting, some people may associate it with the Devil. Silly people, it's just a colour.

Whatever floats your boat!! I too chose a deep burgundy red for a desk in my kitchen. It is very different, yet blends in very well. You are right, with the right accessories, I am certain it looks great!! Very dramatic, good for you!! I'm sure your daughter loves it. Yes, God does love all colors.

Dont know what God's favorite color is...but the church probably sees red as a satanic color, and that could be why they were disturbed about it.

I like red. Not everyone is open to colorful spaces, though. They were probably thinking in muted tones. I'm glad you suggested red - I'm Christian, and think that too many Christians are set in their ways, and those ways are stodgy and rather boring. Don't worry about it.

Conservativeness runs deep. Even as deep as acceptable colors in a church. I had this friend in my church growing up whose mother only let her wear pink or white dresses to church.

Well, the bathroom is where sinful things happen. People do ungodly acts like pee, fart and poop, and their genitals are exposed. So maybe to instill guilt in the children about things they can't control, you should paint it red to connotate hell and keep the fear in their hearts.
