Depends on what kind of mood I'm in, but usually the wine scenario. But I'm also a female. I think most guys would probably go with BBQ & beer.

I am a french woman and I would definitely choose red wine with cheese and fruits. But not a Bordeaux. Maybe Gamay or Cahors, if you find it, they are more fruity and light!
I would prefer wine, if I wanted to really enjoy the meal, but beer could also be OK...

It depends on the situation and the people you are having a little party, but you can find really good American wine (French wines are too way overrated).
