Do they have Christmas? Easter?
I don't know what I would do if I didn't have Jesus Christ in my heart.

I am not talking about the other holidays, I am talking about the holidays that have to do with Jesus.

O'Hare, Jesus is not a myth, you want to believe that, that's your problem but don't try to push your beliefs on me.

I'm sure they still have presents for Christmas, but that's all it means to them. it means more to us Christians.

Is this question supposed to make sense somehow? Are you an atheist in disguise trying to make christains look like complete retards? Do I believe in holidays? Sure, Easter is lots of fun. What you don't realize is that Easter and Christmas are actually pagan holidays. Easter, for example, was a fertility ritual marking the spring soltice. The rituals were meant to represent new life, a sort of resurrection form the dead of winter. It was celebrated with orgies and all manner of sin. Ever wondered what bunny rabbits and eggs had to do with Jesus? Guess what? They are the very same fertility symbols that were used by the pagan religions that invented them. Can you think of a better fertility symbol than an egg and a rabbit (as in, they f*ck like rabbits)? I won't even get into Christmas, but think about it. Really. An evergreen tree as the only sign of life in the dead of a northern winter?
Easter and Christmas are commercialized, and we. like you, have forgotten all about their true historical roots. Its just all fun and games for the kiddies, and retards that never will reach the age of reason.
You don't have jesus in your heart. You have nice warm fuzzy chemicals in your brain that are the trademark of mental illness. Ignorance is bliss!

Holidays are just corporate marketing schemes. You can call them religious holidays, but Xmas and Easter are just economy boosters. Why do you think the US can predict the state of the economy by xmas shopping returns? But anyone can see this, and it has nothing to do with atheism. This also applies to non-religious holidays.
However, if you mean actually celebrating the alleged "virgin" birth of a baby and the fictional raising of the dead of that same baby several decades later without all the gift-buying, card-sending, and that is what you mean by holiday, then NO, atheists do not believe in that. Which should also be pretty obvious.

I am spiritual about things, so I'm not sure where I fall, but I celebrate Christmas but not for the religious reasons, and fewer and fewer people do these days anyway. I love family and friends and enjoy making these trips and getting together. Santa, blah blah, great for kids and nostalgia. But just because people throw up a nativity scene they think its for Jesus. Its really just to buy presents and eggnog and hanging with the fam. But I don't celebrate Easter because I really don't see how to celebrate Easter. I volunteer at a youth center and dressed up as the Easter bunny last year and didn't really think about it because i wanted to celebrate with the kids. I just like to see people happy. I enjoy festivities but I really don't think people are going to church and celebrating the way they are supposed to as they would have their friends believe. Other holidays like thanksgiving and st Patty's day....these are really nice. Everyone having fun. Halloween is a tricky one though. Aren't Christians not supposed to celebrate the day of witching or something? I have heard this, but everyone dresses up their kids no matter what their religion except maybe the one truly religious house on the street. And those people are shunned for the whole year as the people who didn't give kids candy and were bah humbug over Halloween. Kinda ironic huh? Sorry, I run on a lot.

Well, a lot of Christmas and Easter traditions have secular roots embedded in them. Some would even argue that they are more secular than they are religious.
I would imagine that atheist due believe and celebrate in the secular portions of the holidays. They may even participate in the religious aspects of the holidays out of respect for the cultural heritage these holidays have. I dunno...I'm not atheist, but I'd be interested to see what some have to day.

Christmas is a paid day off...I'll take it. You can look at what Christmas has become and say with a straight face that it is all about jesus? By the way, Christmas is a farce anyway. It isn't and never was jesus birthday....Dec 25th was a pagan festival that was turned into christmas in order to ease the conversion of pagans to christianity

The holidays are there, even if the date is wrong to celebrate the birth and resurrection of Jesus. Simple.
The ones who do not believe are entitled to the holiday but do not care to recognize them. That's fine.
They get paid and a few disgruntled want Happy Holidays enshrined as the greeting. That is a stretch.
I am thrilled you have Jesus in your heart.
It is wonderful is it not?
God Bless.

Most holidays christian celebrate have nothing to do with god/jesus. Xmas was actually the celebration of winter solstice, easter was for spring solstice. aka "Turning of the seasons." When religions try to make their way into popularity, it is common for them to adopt already popular holidays. Most christians would agree that Jesus bday occured sever months before december.
Since christians didn't make those holidays, I'd say it's ok for athiests & agnostics to have fun with it too ;)

Easter and Christmas are both pre-christian holidays.
Easter celebrates spring and rebirth, Christmas the winter solstice and the longest night.
At neither of those times do I celebrate Jesus or God. I appreciate having the opportunity to spend times with my family.

A holiday is a holiday..
It is not cancelled because of athiests or religions
or nations that do not share the holiday..
If your school or office is closed because someone called
a holiday then just enjoy it , you don't have to believe in the reason.

Holidays exist, no matter what you believe. And it's not just atheists who don't celebrate Christmas and Easter, my dear. You have your traditions, other people have theirs. You need to deal with that.
