Do you think it is just to hire Illegals just because they will work for three dollars an hour. Are you doing it to support the Illegal or to make more money for your business? Because if you were really trying to support the Illegal don't you think it is more supportive to pay them actual minimum wage?

I must admitt that I agree with jason's answer.People should be paid what they are worth depending on how good of a job they do.Yes many people take advantage of illegals but the same could be said for all the supermarkets and fast food places that hire teenagers and pay them at minimum wage, but of course the difference is that they are all legal.Personal I can say that I have been on both sides of this issue.I use to own a landscaping company wich helped paid some of my college bills. And yes I did hire illegals as well as legal workers. And quickly enough I noticed the difference. The main thing i noticed was that the illegals were pretty much happy and even thanked me on occasion on the wage I paid them (which was about $11/hr) and didn't seem to mind that their boss was a woman young enough to be their daughter. They pretty much kept to themselves and did their work as best as they could. On the other hand the legal residents whom a lot of you harp so much about on here were all the contrary. They showed to work late and left early and always complained about hours missing from their paychecks though they only showed to work 2 times a week and only stayed for 5 hours. They always seemed to find a way to cut, scrape or catch something in their eye and threatened to sue for everything I was worth. And didn't think I had the enough brain cells to be running a company.Yet they always believed that because they were legal they should earn more if not the same as the others who weren't and worked twice as more as they did.Never understood what part of "lazy" they didn't get.So to wrap this up,yes i believe that a person should be paid according to what type of work they do regardless if they are legal or illegal.Everyone should have a right to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

I would pay someone whatever their worth is. If that illegal would show up and work hard then sure i would pay him good money. I don't mean to push a stereotype, but if an legal American citizen would show up and not do the job then i would fire him and hire more illegals that would do the job or even another American citizen. I don't remember the story but there was a business owner in Los Angelos and she couldn't find anyone to help her do her business. I won't swear to it, but i think it was a landscaping business.

I think that if they were trying to be supportive to illegals they would pay them minimum wage or better. Rather they are trying to make more money and expend less. I think that It is coward and is not fair to US citizens as many can not find work.....they are actually offering jobs specifically to illegals which isn't right, however if more US citizens worked instead of collecting welfare I think the situation may be different.

Hiring illegals is one thing but hiring and exploiting the hell out of them (teh $3/hr wage you described) is another. I am against both. I understand that the economy/government in their home country may suck a great deal of ***, however they need to fix the problem themselves. Running away does not solve anything. I'm a first generation American, my family came over from Belgium and you know what? They did it the CORRECT AND LEGAL way. There shouldn't be acceptions for illegals, refugees maybe but not illegals. They just refuse to have the revolution it takes to fix their country and that's seriously what some of those countries need: a good revolution. But it has to come from them, not from us.

The government is lagging behind is finding a way to determine if a person is illegal. I believe that this is deliberate. They will procrastinate until after the elections in November.

People hire illegals, so they can pay less...they are not humanitarians. Whether its a factory worker, lettuce picker or caregiver, janitor or housecleaner, the employer is seeking low cost labor. Rarely are they hired for highly skilled jobs (though caregiver can be somewhat involved).

No, it is unjust. It creates a slave class. Americans should be ***ashamed*** at promoting a new serf class. Don't hire illegals. They should return to their homelands where they are true citizens and figure out how to get rid of the oligarchy that exports its poor to the USA.

Legal penalties are high. I think it's $2,500 or so for not properly verifying documents required by the I-9, plus other possible legal consequences. But what kind of employee are you getting? Someone why breaks laws. Might they also break the law while working for you and get you in more trouble?

I think any ahole who hires illegals should be stripped but naked and dropped in the middle of Mexico City. And never allowed to return to the U.S. Then find out how those beaners treat you.
